The Blessing Height -
17", Width - 9", Depth - 7". One-of-a-kind figure whose head and
limbs are sculpted from polymer clay, with a cloth body over a wire
armature, and glass eyes. The shaman is dressed in suede and fur,
with a bear claw necklace.
"The Blessing" portrays a smudging
ceremony, performed in many Native American societies. The shaman
holds sage in one hand and a feather fan in the other. When the sage
is smoking, those who are participating in the blessing turn slowly as the
shaman fans the fragrant smoke on them to cleanse their spirits. |
